This spring of 2011 has been a wet one. The Logan river is threatening to exceed its banks tonight. I want to be grateful for all this rain but there has been drowning accidents and flooding through out the state of Utah and sometimes it is hard to be grateful when mother nature shows her wrath from east to west....from fires to floods to tornado destruction. But one of the many beauties of this valley is this double rainbow...just outside my window and it seemed to say....all is beautiful.

I was in AZ for Ethan's and Alexis' Birthdays. Love being able to be there for these milestones in their lives.
Alexis is getting so big...she loves Purple so Marcy threw a PURPLICIOUS Party for her, with
lots of friends and family. Marcy did a great job to make it fun for 14 little guests. It was windy outside so the party had to be brought inside. Pizza, veggies, fruit,chips and purple punch, purple cake with ice cream. Treat bags, a unicorn Pinata and cake pops to take home! One of the cutest(last minute) ideas Marcy had was all the little guests sat at a paper table with drawn place sittings on the floor....It was perfect to help14 little people stay in their own space. There were also activities - painting, beading necklaces and decorating crowns. And....Tons of exciting PRESENTS!

AZ Angels - Feb-March 2011

Here are my AZ. Angels. I have been in AZ for several weeks....I miss them already. Little Rylan is a sweet little baby but he likes to sit up and be where everyone else is. We were fixing dinner and he was a little fussy so Alexis and Ethan were helping him be happy...they had every stuffed toy piled high on the high chair....I had them take a few off so I could take a picture and we could see Rylan...what ever works...happy Baby:)
I went to AZ this time to be there for Conners and Ethans and Alexis's BD's. I missed Conners BD by a few days. Ethan was Feb. 27th, he knew he was the little man of the hour...I love watching this little guy eat...he eats with such pleasure(reminds me of a little boy named Conner)
Ethan wanted an Army Man BD. (another reminder of a little conner) Marcy did a great job with the cake and Ethan was so excited
about it...1. The helicopter and the army men. 2. To Eat it!!!
He blew out the candles like a pro...so cute:) I Love you little E -Man!
Conner and Marcy have such great friends in their area. We were invited to a Luau to celebrate the 1st birthday of one of Marcy's friends who is Hawaiian. It was over the top...great food, decorations and entertainment. They had several groups perform....I cant say enough about how great they were. Alexis performed with two other little girls it was so exciting how well they did and how much they loved dancing...see the video on my blog.
Ethan was glued to watching the dancing...didn't move a muscle:) and He loved the food but was mostly excited about the colored marbles in the fish bowl on each table.

Rylan Conner...Blessing day, January 2, 2011

What a handsome little guy on his blessing day. Marcy knitted him a white sweater and afghan...he wore little khaki pants. He also wore the same little tatted booties that Conner wore when he was blessed. Aunt Carly had tatted her first booties for Rylan but Rylan was 2 months old and the booties were to small. The booties he wore were made by Aaron's great grandma Batty who taught Aaron's mom to tat who taught Carly to tat...same line of tatters:)

Rylan was blessed by his dad in Roosevelt. January 2, 2011. He had quite a blessing circle, surrounded by his Dad,Uncles and Granpas. He was so good - someone said they peeked at him during the blessing and he was smiling up at everyone the whole time.

After the meeting we met at a school and had lunch of soup, salads rolls and deserts. It was so good to get together with the Aland family.

Beautiful Grandkids - Rendezvous Park, August 2010

We should have started here..the kids love throwing rocks into the stream...They didn't want to leave when it was time to go.

Ethan John - 2 1/2 years old. This little man is so full of fun and energy. He wasn't to happy with posing for pictures this day....he would rather be out exploring the beautiful Rendezvous Park with lot of trees, a stream and bridge and ROCKS!

Alexis Paige - age 3 1/2 on the other hand is quite the poser...she has learned to work the camera...she loves the out of doors and also loves to explore right along with her boy cousins. She is a big helper to her mom and dad and loves learning new things.

Collin James - 2yrs. 4 mo. is a happy go lucky little boy...so happy....have you seen a cuter smile...this little red head loves to run run run and explore and loves balls.

Adon Lavell - almost 4 is a great big brother.....he is a little sponge and takes in everything all around him. He loves to be out side and is busy keeping Collin in line:0

Family picture day was fun...beautiful weather and the kids were pretty co-operative...it may have helped that we told them we would go to Charlies after pictures for ice cream....just a little.

Conner and Marcy Welcomed their new little son into the world, November 6, 2010.
Born 11:45 In the St. Joseph Hospital in Tucson AZ.

Alexis has been waiting for a long time to have little brother out of mommies tummy. She is a perfect Big Sister. When I talked to her on the phone...she excitedly told me that the Doctor took baby Rylan out of mommies tummy..He is brand new and we have to be very careful with him.

Marcy says that Lexi would hold Rylan all day long if she could...so sweet.

I was not able to be in AZ when Rylan came into the world...I appreciate Tracy and Susan being there for all the excitement.....next best thing to being there is knowing that family was close by.

Rylan Conner Egbert 6lb. 14 oz. 19 1/2 inches long. His due date was November 22 so he was a bit early...so glad that he is perfectly healthy and strong.

I was in AZ this year for HALLOWEEN! Here we are ready to go to the trunk-or-treat at the church....I tried to rock out....I don't think conner and marcy were going to let me out of the house unless I dressed up....twas fun! I have green and purple hair..that I tried to spike(curly hair won out) and tatoo sleeves on my arms...it is fun to be a rock star for a night...see my guitar that Ethan is holding!

Alexis and Ethan were so excited about the jack-o-laterns. We all went to a little pumpkin patch to let the kids pic out their own pumpkins...they loved it and made friends with two little goats.

Marcy made this cute little princess outfit...Alexis was a perfect little princess.

They also got to wear their costumes to story time where they listened to stories

and made goodie bags and went around the library for a little trick-or-treating.

Ethan was a natural as a army guy. He loved watching all the other kids. Tracy and Susan invited us to their ward in Tucson. ....the kids walked in a costume contest and played games in the church and then outside for more trunk-or-treating...there were so many people it was amazing...and the candy that was given out?......it was literally over the top...the kids went to about 10 cars and had as much candy as they had gotten the night before. FUN!

Back home in Utah Carly and Boys shared the evening carving jack-o-laterns with Uncle Ryan and Aunt Heather.

I missed being with everyone at one place for HALLOWEEN. Darth Vader (Adon) and Yoda (collin) at their ward HALLOWEEN dinner and trunk-or-treat in Almaga.

Darth Maul (Aaron), Queen Amidala (Carly), Yoda and Darth Vader...they had great costumes and love to dress up every year!

This is suppose to be a picture of Kadie and her roomies and friends at...somewhere in SLC for HALLOWEEN.....I guess I should get more info before I post....looks like they were having fun.

Ryan is a wonderful son and I'm so proud to be his mom. He keeps life up beat and has a fun sense for life:)

Our family was able to gather on Wed. to have a traditional dinner of steak and fettucini.....we were wondering how many year he had had that same birthday dinner and he use to always get new basketball shoes but no shoes this year. Heather made him a cake and the boys helped out with the candles a couple of times!

Attending were G&G Egbert Herald, Carly, Adon, Collin, Ryan, Heather, Kelsey, Joel B.....and me. It is always fun to get together.....Happy Happy Birthday Ryan K.

Our beautiful Kadie celebrated her 23rd BD on August 21, 2010...she had requested a massage and pedicure soon after her arrival from her mission....so that was pretty much her birthday.

Kadie requested a purple and gray polka-dot Topsy turvey cake for her BD and Carly obliged...turned out cute as cute can be:)

Collin and Adon love having Auntie home and gave lots of hugs for her birthday. Ryan Heather and mom and Carly and Adon and Collin all joined in for a very Happy Birthday celebration!

We walk in to the house after picking Kadie up from the air port and the first thing she did was flop on the floor......Awwwwwww Carpet!!! Never realized until that moment that people did not have carpet at all in their homes in Portugal. Kadie brought fun gifts for all from Portugal. Here are all the ladies in their genie pants...all the ladies in Portugal wear them...FUN! She also brought us lots of yummy chocolate and t-shirts for the little boys.....I hope I can find a picture of them to put on here.

And.....Kadie came home and hit the dirt running...she worked and planed and played hard...she got a sun burn the first few days and she came home loving things that I never could get her to eat in 21 years like TOMATOES! and ONIONS...ya I know huh?

Kadie spoke in Sacrament meeting at the North Logan 6th ward August 8, 2010. She spoke on "A change of heart" We gathered with family and friends after sacrament meeting for a lunch. Kelsey made the cute poster even though she will not go to church with us or to the airport.

We have been looking forward to having Kadie return home from the Porto Portugal mission!
July 30th was the day....she had some connection problems and spent the night in Chicago....was able to get a good nights sleep, so grateful she was traveling with other Irmas....she arrived at the SLC International airport July 31, 2010. Alexis was the first to run to meet her.....we have waited for soooo long:)

The Grand kids were pretty young when Kadie left in February 2009...but every one talks enough about Kadie and shows pictures that they remembered her fine.

Roy and Elliot Buckmaster/ Portland Temple July 2010

My Niece Elliot Collett and Roy Buckmaster were sealed in the Portland Oregon temple, July 23, 2010. I was thrilled to be there and be with my family for this beautiful wedding.

This is when they came out of the temple. Such a beautiful couple...they are so cute together....seem to balance out each other perfectly. The ceremony was nice a room full of family and friends. They will always have a story to tell their children...the story of someone not remembering the ring:)....just added to the wonderful day I say:)

These are the brides maids waiting for the bride and groom...as usual I kinda have pictures backwards...Portland with perfect weather. I need to get names of all these beauties...Alexis Collett.

Zac, Alexis, Roy & Elliot Buckmaster Susan & Tracy Collett Family....Tracy is the second youngest of my siblings.

The Aquarium - Zac - Granpa Reay - Tracy - CR - Jay - Randy.

While in Oregon we got to see some of the sights....Going to the Aquarium was a great outing...loved the ocean tunnel and seeing all the displays for the Ocean life...they had a couple displays of jelly fish...didn't get a picture...they were probably my favorite...I guess I was just so entranced by the little fellows....how about this big guy....I think he liked having his picture taken...up close and personal:)

This is a replica of the biggest great white sharks mouth I think...I forced Zac to have a picture with me but he sure seemed to know a lot about sharks.

Our motel was right along the coast at New Port...this day we went to the coast it was so foggy and 50 mile an hour winds...cold to put it mildly...There was horizontal fog and ocean mist...sort of amazing though....you cannot tell from the picture but the white stuff is bird poop...(interesting I know)there are hundreds of birds on the rocks hunkered down from the wind....I use to know what kind of birds...Ill think of it later..that's what I get for waiting to blog so long.

This is the light house...well the lamp inside the light house...I loved it even though the wind was ridiculous and it was cold...I'm glad we didn't let that stop us...fascinating I say.....this is the 3rd oldest light house along the Oregon coast and the 2nd oldest that is still in use. I thought it interesting the rhythm of the light.....but I cant remember the story behind that either...when we got to our motel room this was the first thing we could see through the fog from our window.

THIS...is the light house....renovated through the years from its original way it was run. It use to have other houses and farm buildings etc....in early years families would live right on the property at the light house and they lived off what they grew themselves, didn't go to town much because they were on constant watch and caring to keep the light house working for sea men.

We went along the docks and and these little fellows were making such a racket...so fun to watch....noisy and showing off....there were about a dozen of them...you could hear them from far away. We also got to shop in the local tourist shops and eat halibut sandwiches and clam chowder...oh and bosen berry cobler...num...thanks Granpa Reay for treating us all to a scrumptious lunch in New Port Oregon!

I have these pictures out of place also....the evening after the temple we went to New Port where we went for a dinner at Roy's Aunts summer home...in the bush I guess you would say...It was a beautiful place and great dinner and visiting. Then the night of the 24th we went to the same summer home and enjoyed the reception. The vintage/modern wedding cake.

The wedding line...still didn't get a picture of the bride and grooms parents...I think I was just pre -occupied at these beautiful, fun young people..quite a group and they had so much fun...I'm glad to have been there. The Collett's also had a reception in August in Tucson at their home.

Us FREE! I was able to watch fireworks with Carly, Aaron, Adon and Collin....this year we viewd the USU stadium fireworks from a church close to home.....Carly had to head to work at 11:00 so we stayed close to home and her work so she wouldn't get caught up in traffic.

Happy Birthday AmERiCa!...Adon 3 Collin 2. Some people with a bunch of kids were parked next to us and they enjoyed Aaron and Carly's armature light show so they shared their pizza with us.

It was a little chili as the sun went down....It's always fun to Snuggle with Collin:)

...that I send pictures AND have a baptism! Aren't you all just so lucky! Well fam and fans, how have you all been this past week? I won't lie, I am TIRED! It has been a very full week. We started out by going to Porto because we had a division with the Porto Irma's and then the next day I had my final chiropractor appointment and we went to Zone Leader council. We then came back on a late train and had to pull a baptism together! It was fun and totally worth it.

Meeting with Felizbella is always a pleasure and her baptism was a success. She was baptized by our ward mission leader, Leo, then Felizbella and I sang a duet together for the musical number. It was great! We sang nearer my God to thee but she wrote different words. She likes writing poems and verses and since it's her baptism she did it her way, which was fine with me!

They actually helped a lot in teaching of Felizabella ...they are from the same little town...cool

Members have never seen a happier recent convert and I guess the best things in life really are worth waiting for, and Felizbella hadn't waited terribly long but I know how hard it was for her to not be able to have the blessings of baptism in her life.

Sunday was great and today we went and played soccer again and played on these pedal cart thing that were fabulous. We had races, tiring but way cool. It was down by the river and with the wonderful breeze...paradise - but now our legs feel like jello.

summer time soft ball 2010

Ryan played on a soft ball team and was having a tournament in Smithfield...I love hanging out and watching ball....miss those little league days.

Ryan and his friend Brandon.....their team lost three in a row so we didn't get to watch as many games as we would like to have, but they had a couple of games not so close and then they played their last game of the tourney... a team that seemed to dominate them because they were loud and power hitters but our team stayed close and only lost by one point - 15 to 16...some great fun plays.

Heather.....Ryan's biggest fan for sure! .....

Love this picture...these little boys are the happiest when they are out side exploring...throwing rocks and playing with sticks...the little river (need to find out the name) was running full with little water falls....twas beautiful and soooo mellow to watch.

summer is here and quickly passing....we finally went to the canyon...smithfield canyon for a wennie roast...it was soooo beautiful.....Here is Adon...smiling for the camera:)

This little Collin was in HEAVEN! He played and played and loved the sticks and the water and the rocks....was so fun to watch him play and explore.

Adon was happy just having the marshmallow on the end of his stick...he was content just going through the motions for roasting that mallow....I think it was used for swatting bushes also...don't think he even ate it but he sure enjoyed himself:)

One more AMAZING Week in Coimbra, June, 2010

So I know that y'all have been dying for some pictures lately, and since my mother has been so kind as to send me a battery charger for my camera I can now take pictures once again!
This was one more amazing week come and gone, and sometimes I feel like I go home after doing Internet and the next day is p-day and so I get to come back here and do Internet again! The Lord is blessing us with a ton of success here in Coimbra. Irma Bateman, Ju, Rosi,and me. Ju is a member here that we know and love very well. She just got back from serving a mission for one transfer in the Lisbon mission and this is the first time we saw here...long story there, but we love her and her mom so much and she helps us so much in what we do and has a super lover for missionary work.

These are some sweets that Felizbella gave to us, they are kind of mysterious but SO GOOD! I want to have her bring me some from her daughters town so that I can bring some to you. You would all probably hop on the earliest plane to Portugal If I do just so you can have some more:)

The Lord is blessing us with a ton of success her in Coimbra. This week we marked Felizbella and Maria for baptism and they both came to church along with Joana. I think we could maybe mark Joana this week but we will have to see! I have been so blessed as a missionary and even though we can always do more and better it's good to work hard your whole mission and get to the end and see some fruits of your labors and to go out with a bang.

Me and our Assistant that is going home, Elder Sachue. Mostly I think the Brazilian accent is kind of ugly, but his is so cool because he lives in Central Brazil. One of the best missionaries I have ever met by far. So Cool.

This week has been super rainy but it is supposed to be warming up. World cup started this week to and it just stinks because the city dies when there are games on. Not that great of days for proselyting.

The elders had a baptism yesterday of a 12 year old boy named Deodato, it was really good. We work so closely with the elders that when they see success we are just as happy. I love Coimbra, this is by far the most unified district that I have served in and I love it. It's amazing what you can do when you all stick together.

Me and Irma Bateman eating some pao de agua, which is some of my favorite bread that I have found here in Portugal. The bread here is by far my favorite thing, I think its even better than the chocolate!!! Okay, they're even.

I know you all want details but I cant really think of much else...God is good. He loves us. He wants us to come unto Him. I feel like my testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith and the Restoration has grown a ton this week, about the work that he did and that how a small boy in a grove of trees changed the world forever. The church is true and it's not going anywhere, and it's a privilege to be taking a part in the events that are leading up to the second coming of our Savior.

Just Chillin - Rainy June 2010

Adon and Collin were at the house and Uncle Ryan was helping them get their Jammies on....Adon wanted a back rub from Uncle Ryan......mmmm Uncle Ryan is the BEST!

When Collin saw Adon getting a back rub he didn't want to be left out...he went over to Ryan and let him know he wanted a turn....sweet!

I don't know...maybe its all the rain...but give this guy some grapes and he always starts the funny face thingy.....

We were finishing dinner and sitting around talking and Aaron starts the grape in the mouth silly face then ......

It gets Ryan going...I don't know why this makes me laugh they start talking in silly voices and Ryan was talking like he had chew in his mouth....like a hick from the south...it is so good to just get together and enjoy a meal and some Silly time!

Adon was not to be out done...he has a silly face of his own...I'm not sure where it came from but he does this thing with his eyes....

It's not really crossed eye...he gets it from his dad I'm sure...but he makes us laugh....Do your Silly face Adon......:)

Kadie doesn't seem to have time to write much let alone send pictures...these are some of my favorite pics from last year....the flowers are every where and in lavender....showing their suntan lines last summer...I cant imagine being outside all day in the heat...day in and day out...Kadie doesn't complain she actually loves the heat...this is her latest letter. Her companion right now is Irma Bateman...I think she is from Idaho so another American girl:)

Hey all! This week has flown by and it has been by far one of the best weeks of my mission, maybe even of all time! I don't have a ton of time to write BUT Felizbella is now getting baptized! She is doing it without the knowledge of her daughter and I am so happy for her! I know it's what the Lord wants for her and what will make her feel complete.

This week we have found a ton of potential people that are ready to receive the gospel and ALL of them came to church! One of the fullest chapels I've seen here in Coimbra. I love this work, I know the Lord blesses those who humble themselves and recognize their need for Him, because I know that because of Him this week was possible. HAVE A GOOD ONE!

Collin and Nana in a perdicament may 2010

One day Adon and Collin were at my house...I think Carly ran to the store for something. I was doing up dishes and the boys were out in the back yard. I asked Adon where Collin was...I heard a ehhhhh...Collins Little voice coming out of the dog carrier...it seemed so funny I ran to get my camera to take a picture...by the time I got back he had tried to turn around to get out of the carrier and was getting pretty upset...I took the picture and then sat my camera on the picnic table then got him out...soothing his upset....then later I tried to find my camera...no where to be found...I accused Collin of taking it to get back at me for thinking his little perdicament funny.I couldn't remember if I put my camera inside or out side....Collin is just tall enough that he gets into more things lately....Well a week later we are outside again...I have looked for my camera for days...it has also rained for days.....I looked in the window well....inside the house...under everything- in everything and I never found it....then Collin is playing with the 3 wheeler bike and opens up the seat and hands me my camera saying ehhhhhh....I wonder if he knew where it was all along and had forgiven me for taking his picture in a tight squeeze. Luckily the bike seat was water proof...I was so glad to turn on my camera and it worked!

. . .We can go to Logan Canyon and feed the ducks...Adon, Collin and Uncle Ryan

It was a perfect day to feed the ducks..adon loved throwing the bread to the ducks...Im surprised that I got so many ducks in the pictues because there were mostly seagulls fighting for the bread... Collin was just enjoying the day:) We also stopped at Aggie Ice cream...I wished I had a picture of the boys enjoying their cones...Adon insisted on pink icecream so we got each of the boys strawberry....Adon tried very hard to keep up with the drips....Collin was just so proud of his pretty pink ice cream cone...we would tell him to lick it and he would take a tiny lick(I don't know if he didn't like the cold) and then he would beam as if he was thinking...Im a big boy because I have a ice cream cone.

Mothers Day Call from our MISSIONARY - May 2010

So So So excited for the muchly anticipated moms day phone call from Kadie, calling from Coimbra Portugal, She called Sunday May 9th just a little after 9AM our time 4PM her time:)

It was wonderful to talk to Kadie on Mothers Day. Everyone came to the house at 9:00 Am and Kadie called just a few minutes after 9 - It was wonderful to talk to her and hear her say Hi Mom and to hear her wonderful laugh! Adon and Collin pray for Aunt Kadie on a mission in Portugal every day. These are the Buzz light year toys I brought them from Disney Land, Buzz has spinning lights and the boys played with them for two days straight:)

We are here! I was very impressed with the fun and cleanliness of Disney Land...we walked from our motel to the park...perfect weather to spend all day in the land of Imagination :)

I don't think Alexis and Ethan knew exactly what DISNEY LAND was....but they were troopers to go along for the ride.

This week Kadie writes- This week was good, it all just goes by so fast and now transfer calls are coming again! Our Felizbella is a little bit happier now, I think she is just developing more faith that her daughter will come around. We also found a cool new investigator named Anabella, she is super cool but lives way far away and so we will see how that works out. We are doing a division this week with the Viseu Irmas so I will be here with Irma Bateman until Wednesday when we switch for zone conference. It's gonna be SWEET! I know my greenie is in good hands with Irma Beckstead and we have a good couple of days lined up for Irma Bateman. It has been super HOT here, I think I've gotten a few sunburns even, but this too will pass....but not soon, this next week there is going to be a huge party here in Coimbra called Quema das Fitas, it's essentially a graduation party that lasts a week and everyone just gets plastered...be excited for these pictures. Kelsey has reached the BIG 2 -0!

April 23, 1990 Our Sassy little girl was born in Vernal Utah....time 9:07 AM weighing it at a whopping 6lb. 9 0z.

I realized that I don't have many pictures of just Kelsey... She is so fun and Beautiful!

Muah! My wish for you baby girl is.....When your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says: "Crap she's up!" You have so much to give to the world....do good.

Carly and Aaron are getting really good at making cakes...this was beautiful and tasty to....real flowers really made it a hit....Kelsey loved it! (home made fondant....tasted delish)

Marcy Graduates! Marcy finished up her elementary education degree and she will graduate! Well, she wont actually walk but we celebrated with a dinner at Macaroni grill(thanks Tracy and Susan) This is an unofficial cap and tassel...didn't get a family pic...ugh!

The Desert Blossoms like a Rose

Some of the things that I love about Sahuarita AZ..... These two little munchkins are my favorite part of AZ and we go walking most days or at least outside.....I was able to see the desert start to bloom before I left.......The desert has it's own beauty and I loved it. The rain fall this year was good so the animals and plants like that.I thought this was a cactus bloom but I'm not sure now I look at the pic...and I don't know how to delete it! But the desert seems to favor the yellow and orange flowers. Some areas had a blanket of tiny tiny yellow or orange flowers...miniature. These are some wild and domestic flowers that we walk by on our walking route.

Even the cactus take on an interesting beauty....as I was leaving AZ (it was raining) I saw a few of these and the prickly pear starting to bloom....that is what I was wanting to see the most...beautiful brilliant yellow and dark pinkishpurlples and the cactus are just loaded with buds just waiting for the right temperatures to burst open!

Kadie writes - What a wonderful day and age to be alive, crazy people in the road, volcanoes going off, and earthquakes every other week....could it get any better? I think not! It's weird how safe I feel on the mission, the Lord definitely protects us. The way I'm talking you would think that I had been like assaulted or something, but no, just a thought I was having.
One more week come and gone and I'm tired as a dog once again. We started out this week going to the Lighthouse in Porto (isn't it beautiful?) with the newbie's that just came in. It was a fun but a windy day and I definitely wore the wrong skirt...oops! It was a good time to hang out with president Walton and to reflect on the time that has passed since I had gone to the Light house almost a year ago.Time goes by to fast.

Sun Set in beautiful Coimbra - Our baptism that was set, she is having some difficulties...she is so amazing and so readily accepting the gospel and wants to go forward. Her daughter is her means of financial support and her daughter decided to threaten her that if she joined the church she would stop helping her out financially. This sweet sister has been crying for about a week straight poor thing but we don't really know what else to do since her daughter lives far away. We have been praying and will probably be doing a fast soon but I'm thinking this is something only the Lord can help with and that He will use it as a way to test our patience. I'm sure it will all turn out just fine. I've seen the hand of the Lord in my Life enough to know that He will always open up a way for us to do what He commands us, exactly how Nephi says it in Nephi 3:7- such a simple scripture but completely true. I Love the work, and I have found in my mission that the Lord has finally made Irma Egbert a little bit more patient. YAY! finally.
I'm still trying to find a good map of Kadie's mission. Porto mission is Northern Portugal.

Madera Canyon - April 2010

One of the things I love about being in Arizona is being able to be outside year'round =] This is only the second trip to Madera Canyon since I've been here each time we wonder why we don't go more often....there is something about being out side...in the mountains...by the water....kids,rocks, grill, hot dogs, hamburgers, smores....just chilaxin....it is my idea of fun! Here is Alexis...the bigger the rock the better to splash us with =]

I was able to go with Carly ,Adon and Collin to get yearly pictures while I was in Logan for a week....I miss these little boys. Adon has always had this wonderful happy disposition...love his giggle.
Collin is almost 2....he loves balls...well anything that is round is a ball...he is growing up so fast...I love his sweetness...and his redish hair...cant get enough of this little boy=]
A brother is someone who I can play with fight with and still Love at the end of the day!

Mesa Easter Pageant - April 2010

Easter weekend Conner, Marcy,Ethan,Alexis and I went to Mesa to the Easter Pageant. It was a great addition to the Easter Season. The theme was Jesus the Christ.
It was a beautiful night and the performance is on a Hugh stage on the grounds right next to the temple and the visitor center. The Pageant is one of the biggest of its kind, It was very well done...the costumes the sounds system...live animals and birds...beautiful colorful costumes.
The cast along with the missionaries roamed the audience before the performance talking to people, answering question. The soldiers and the baby lambs caught Ethans attention . Some of the roman soldiers would let kids try on their helmet and touch their realistic swords...we weren't fast enough to get that attention. Ethan got to touch one baby lamb. With the tabernacle choir singing in the back ground in the warm evening air...twas wonderful...so mellow.

The scens and the actors were beautiful....In a short hour they portrayed the life of our Savior. Jesus Birth was one of my favorite scenes with Mary dancing for joy while Joseph tended to baby Jesus:) Also the angels on the top of the stage...with trumpet and song they praised the Savior of the world...the Son of God.
The closing scene was very moving....Christ was surrounded by the multitude of angels and went up into the sky...I mean way up...you could not tell what was propelling him upward...very realistic and beautiful.
The kids hardly moved through the whole hour...very special spirit there.

The Fanali - Easter Day / Conference Weekend April 2010

Well I wish I could flip all these posts with a twitch of my nose but I can't...Easter morning came sunny and clear...perfect weather to head to Tracy and Susan's home to spend the day watching Conference and enjoying being with some of the Collett's. My brother Guy and his family were also in Tucson spending some time in the sun with Tracy and Susan. We had a wonderful time. Susan has a way of making everything fun with everybody's contribution to the day it was great....watching conference and eating and egg hunt and eating and egg war and eating..and watching conference some more...a little walk up in the hills looking over Tucson with a little spontaneous devotional about the conference we just watched and Alexa wanted to sing For the beauty of the earth... the desert is starting to bloom and the setting sun...Very peaceful and...did I mention BEAUTIFUL!
Tracy and Guy hid eggs for all the kids. Ethan and Alexis were finding eggs that had smiley faces on them and they had motion sensors so as the breeze blew or people walked by they would chirp or say cute little things like "come and find me" "Happy Easter"...they were so cute, the talking eggs were a hit!

This is Alexis and angel...this dog is a sweet heart...I'm trying to catch a picture of Alexis blowing the bubbles and Angel trying to catch them with her mouth...notice the puddles all over...Angel gets hot and so she will go into their smaller pool and cool off for a bit and then she will come out for more play...she loves her people =]
This is Rambo...he is the Collett's 100 lb. puppy...he is a beautiful dog and very friendly and lovable....he likes to be in the middle of what ever is going on...Alexis was a little afraid of him...Ethan just loved him...I was afraid that Rambo would meet Ethan next to the pool and bump Ethan right into the pool....oh and he licked my feet..ew...but he is a wonderful dog and well into being well trained...very smart! Also if he doesn't look big to you..this is a 5 or 6 foot wall that he is looking over =]
this is most of the gang..the kids any way...ya a pretty wonderful kicked back beautiful day to be with family and Celebrate! Conference was wonderful as usual....I never seem to get enough out of it but the feelings are wonderful...the blessed knowledge of the Savior, his life and his love for us....His Attoning sacrifice, in our behalf. Kadie put it well in her last e-mail. "The best thing that the sunshine brought to me was General conference time and tranquil time to think and ponder on what the Savior has done for me. He truly is our light, Isn't He? Let's treat every day like Easter, deal?" It would be wonderful to carry the feeling of this Easter/Conference day with us every day. Im so Greatful for my Lord and Savior...his love and his blessings in my life...I feel so blessed with family and the Gospel to lift me and strengthen me.

Just wanted to post a few things that have been going on around here in Sahaurita. Ethan is growing up so much..starting to talk more every day...or else I can understand him better every day =] I love watching this little man play. He loves luvs cars and carries at least two around every where he goes. This night he was playing so cute...lining up his cars and making cute little jabber/sounds obviously enjoying his time away from teasing Alexis=}

I think the team name was the Sahuarita Saints....team members were made up from their ward here in the mission =} But the Saints took first place! When Ethan got up the next morning and saw the big trophy he was all smiles...so this is a picture of the trophy and one of the Saints biggest fans!

Coimbra to Batalha and back - March 2010

A lot is happening in the life of our missionary in Portugal. She is so blessed and so happy and looks for the miracles that are around her evey day. I wish I would have made a blog just for Kadie...maybe I still can when I get home.
Kadie and her companion Irma Draper had a invitation to travel with the Senior missionaries to see some sites of Portugal. Elder and Irma Lyman traveled with 4 Ir mas to the City of Batalha. I couldn't get the pics to load here...they saw some beautiful country and Impressive old cathedrals. Then back to Coimbra for more serving the people there. This is Kadie - Mimi and Irma Rachel Draper.
These pics are out of order....I assume that this is at the mission home...Kadie went with her companion at transfers to send her on to the Madeira island and receive her new companion (daughter). This is a Felizabella... a golden investigator who is so grateful to have found the Gospel truths...her baptism is set and she is soooo ready to embrace the Gospel. The greatest joy of the mission when someone is so ready to embrace Jesus Christ and his goepel truths...miracles every day :)

Kadie is training again and in Coimbra where she is still learning the area...she is a bit anxious but had an amazing first week with all the new changes in her life. Oh cute hair cut too...she says it is getting hotter, all who know Kadie knows that she has more than her share of thick heavy hair....beautiful

Our Beautiful Kelsey - I went home to Utah for a week for spring break. I wanted to get at least 3 major things accomplished towards Kelsey's and Jared's wedding. 1- decide on a church to have wedding. 2- look at/buy a wedding dress. 3- secure a photographer.
Kelsey and I went to look at wedding gowns two different days. The third shop we entered was Petals and Promises 1st North in Logan....in my opinion this shop was a cut above the others in cleanliness, organization and it seemed to have a more elegant selection with out a lot of the popular bling bling...and a reasonable price range. Kelsey had an idea of what she was looking for and this was the place. The gal that helped and dressed her was wonderful in helping Kelsey find three favorites. Kelsey wanted cream color...strapless with a bolero....some beading and lace but not to much. After a couple of hours of trying on really not to many dresses, Kelsey found her three fav's.
She wanted Heather and Carly to see them and so the next day we went for the fashion show and yes Kelsey made the major decision...but these two dress are her 3rd and 2nd choice. She picked "THE" one but she wants to leave it as a surprise for now.
Jared and Kelsey will be married August 20 in the North Logan East Church and she has a beautiful wedding dress. She likes the bolero look and will have a sheer lacy one made to go with her beautiful dress.

It is so surreal to see my baby girl in a wedding gown...so beautiful...so fun!

I was so glad to be in Logan for Heathers 23rd Brithday....Ryan came to the house and made her a cake...I wanted to bring some bling bling to the cake with the sparklers...but they spit ash all over the white frosting. Then Ryan went and brought home Papa Murpheys pizza and ice cream and rootbeer....We all gathered for the birthday girls birthday dinner request...lot of eating and silly fun! Happy Birthday to you Heather Cha cha Cha!

Irma Kadie in Coimbra Portugal.Feb.- March 2010

Kadie's new transfer is in Coimbra Portugal. She is in love with this beautiful area. She is also happy with her new companion who is Irma Draper from Utah. They were companions in the MTC. They are so happy to serve together again.
Here their district went on a hike to a water fall for p-day....what B E A U T I F U L Country.
Kind of out of order but Im always wondering what Kadie eats in Portugal...she is not as picky of an eater as she use to be but she is finding out that she loves fish which they have a lot in the coastal land of Portugal and she loved this salmon that they cooked for lunch.
This is kadie, Elder Sorensen, Thurston and Elder? by the falls.
Half of their district on a log in the middle of the path. Kadie is also very impressed with the Elders hard work and obedience in this area.
Kadie by some cool tiles on the way home. Coimbra has a university with very old buildings which are the inspriation for J.K. Rawlings Hogwarts in Harry Potter.

Ethan John had a great birthday...chowing down on his cake! He acted like he knew it was his special day...He didn't object for pictures and he was soooo happy! We had hamburgers and hot dogs for his BD lunch and then went out to a yummy Italian restaurant for dinner..then Birthday Cake!
Ethans Birthday was all about cars...cute cake Marcy....he was soooo excited and was a pro at opening presents and blowing out the candle =] Im so glad I could be here for Ethans #2 Birthday.
February 27, 2010! It is so unbelievable to me that Ethan is 2! yet so exciting!!! I am so grateful for this handsome sweet little man...He brings so much joy and happiness into life...I cannot imagine what we did before he was born....He is a beautiful child! Happy Happy Birthday little MAN!

It rained today in Sahaurita AZ so the plans to go on a outing were dashed (don't know where I got that word) But Marcy made a steak and potatoes dinner and invited some neighbors over for icecream and the traditional german chocolate cake ya know the kind with the coconut and pecan topping...we were wondering tonight how many years Conner has had the same kind of cake =]
Birthdays are so fun....Ethan and Alexis had the candles blown out before we got through the HBD song (only 12 candles)...wish I would have gotten pics of Conner's guests, about 9 adults, 5 kids and all of us =]

Kadie is in a new area as of this transfer...Coimbra. She is serving with her MTC Companion from the states...she is so happy and excited to be with irams Draper again. I love her letters and e-mails...she is so happy and finding much joy in serving.

This is Iara(in white) and Kadie and Iara's friend. When Kadie was in Guimaraes she taught Iaras family, her parents were baptized in Sept. And now Iaras parents thought she was ready...She also wants to be a missionary...missionaries grow so close with people in an area and then they have to move on but it seems like the changes always bring new challenges, people to love and growth. Kadie will return home July 26th(or there abouts, because of visa's she will only get to serve 17 months unless something changes)

I still can't get use to the idea that it is 2010...and here it is Valentines day. I received a few Valentine surprises....sweet cards and Tulips and Candy(I got heart shaped junior mints too but I think they were inhaled before the pic8)....thanks Conner, Marcy, Alexis, Ethan and The Wilson family....you made my day sweet!
It's a bit after the fact but I have been wanting to blog a Valentine day greeting to all who may actually check out my blog....that means that you are family or friends and I want to express my love and appreciation to each of you.....I hope you had a wonderful Love Day....(quote from Ryan) To bad that Conner didn't get in on this but he flew to Austin TX today for training for his work...we will miss him and hope he has a successful trip.

We went on a outing to a park in Rancho Sahaurita...it was a perfect day with sunshine, green grass, subway and lots to explore.
We didn't get pics of the actual play ground because my camera ran out of batteries, but these bronze animals were the highlight of the day. Ethan and Alexis had so much fun you would have thought they were at a real zoo with real animals.
There was almost every zoo animal that you can think of and more....you can tell which ones were Lexi and Ethan's favorites and I didn't post them all.....you'll just have to come see for yourselves.
The only thing I can think of that would have made the day more perfect is if the Utah family were there with us enjoying the fun in the sun!

Even if there is some amount of clean up here...I sure get a kick out of my grandkidlins and how they like blueberries.....Ethan John Loves um.....yummie!
They cant be just any blueberries...frozen wild blueberries...the little ones. Lexi loves rice krispies...which she calls laughing cereal...the box of cereal (value brand) had a picture of the cereal with blueberries....she asks everyday for laughing cereal with blueberries...the sad thing is....Marcy could only find wild blueberries once and now we cant find them...and Lexi still asks for them...she actually threw a fit the first day after we had finished the package off and wouldn't be consoled.....silly Lexi!

Never enough Christmas!!!!! 2009

I know, I know....random pictures...this is finally my blog for Christmas 2009....We actually got together the week after Christmas as a family. Kadie made her Christmas call on the Tuesday after Christmas because that is when everyone was in Logan. I'm finally getting pictures blogged...better late than never...We enjoyed hanging out and playing and eating and playing...here is Ryan dancing to the EYE OF THE TIGER on a fun WII game....never enough Christmas time I say!
Conners family came for a week after Christmas...Ethan and Alexis having some down time watching the tube....I don't think anyone calls it that any more...it just came to my mind 8)
Like Father like son....Conner playing some war game on Jared's X-box....I love the intense expression...matchy matchy!
Ethan was the happiest when he was out and playing in the snow...my favorite pic of him sitting in a pile of snow when we were out building snow men and having a snow ball fight...sweet boy!
The neighborhood cat STANLEY....he went from a scrawny little kitten to a humongous cat...the kids have always loved him....he is so mellow and seems to love the kids too 8) Alexis would hold STANLEY all day if he would let her.

Mason Collett - Called to Santa Rosa California Mission

Mason is the Son of Tracy and Susan Collett. He is entering the Provo MTC on February 10th. Im so glad that I have been here in AZ to be with Mason and his family for his farewell and his temple endowments in the Mesa AZ Temple. Congratulations Mason and I know you are going to have a wonderful mission! God be with you till we meet again!
February 6th I went to the Mesa temple for the first time with Mason, Tracy and Susan and family....It was a wonderful evening and the temple grounds were beautiful with a rectangle pool in the front of the temple and surrounded with green grass and flowers and bushes in full bloom....like going from the desert to.........Heaven 8) It was great to be there for Mason when he received his endowments. After the session we went out for mexican food and frozen custard.....good times.

Kelsey, Ethan, Marcy, Conner and Alexis...Fun Times!
Alexis Paige.....2yrs 10 months old...she looks a like she wasn't to happy but she loved going down the hill and pulling Collin in the sled.
Our family seems to get to Old Main Hill once during the holidays.....Not everyone could come but we went sledding the week after Christmas.....It was more fun this year because the kids didn't mind the cold and they had a better experience...here is the gang that went....Collin, Carly, Aaron, Adon, Conner, Alexis, Marcy, Ethan, Kelsey and.....Nana at the Camera 8)
Little Collin (20 months) Loved sledding....he didn't seem to mind the cold or flying down the hill....he loved the sled and didn't want to get out....Lexi was great at Pulling him around to his hearts delight!

Conner and Ethan 22 1/2 months old....Ethan loved sledding as long as he could be with his dad....He looked like he was freezing but had a big smile on his face....dad too!

I think going to SLC temple square should be a yearly tradition but it doesn't always work out that way. This year it seems like it was impossible to get together at the same time but we got together with conner and marcy on their way to Logan from Vernal this year and went to dinner at the Ruby River steak house and then toured the beautiful temple square. This was Kelsey and Jareds second trip and it was cold and we missed the rest of the family but it is still such a beautiful feeling there.
Lexi by the reflection pool. The White Nativity in the center of the pool was a beautiful sight.
It seems like it was colder than usual...a lot of people but Ethan had he made all bundled up for the ride.
We were glad to be able to have Conner and Marcy and kids come from AZ again for a after Christmas celebration with us.
Lexi looked up at the temple at the angel moroni and said mom...look a rescuer......welll he is that for sure 8) I love the lights at temple square.

Friday, December 18 2009, Jared and Kelsey went to SLC to see the Christmas lights on temple square. They went on a romantic horse and carriage ride around the square...

And then under the beautiful all red lit tree at temple square(you know the one) .......

They sat on a cold metal bench (lol) and Jared asked Kelsey to marry him...well I don't know exactly what he said but he gave her a ring and they are getting married......date to be announced! Congratulations and all the best of wishes to Jared and our baby girl!

Kadie is on the other side of the world but enjoying the Christmas Season just the same. Their Branch had a Christmas gathering and they had a nativity....twas nice. This is Renata and Aurtr and baby Levi as the holy family.

These pictures aren't even close to being in the sequence I wanted them in...this is the closest thing Kadie could find to marshmallows in Portugal......which probably had everything to do with why her fudge didn't turn out the way she had hoped.

This is sort of a oops although this is one of my favorite pictures of Irma Egbert and Irma Centeno bowling with the zone.

Kadie wanted recipes from home to make goodies for the branch and zone parties....the chocolate chip cookies were a hit.....the fudge not so much. Kadie said that there is no such thing as chocolate chips in Portugal and she chopped up cheap Portugal chocolate for the cookies...she wished she would have just splurged and bought some good chocolate and.... the different measurements tripped her up a bit. Kadie said one member said that for the next party they were just having cookies because she liked the cookies so much...Kadie said poor Portugal people don't know what they are missing out on because Kadie didn't think they were that good;o(

Another Baptism Odello....Kadie and one of her companions Irma Sallaes had the oprotunity to teach Odello but turned him over to the Elders. I think this was in December.
